Away win today sees our U14s through to the semi final of the OMYL Cup
First of all I want to recognise Summertown's performance today which deserves mention given that they only had 10 players.
Bardwell were first onto the scoresheet after 3 minutes of play when Keelan Cronin took the first corner kick of the game and placed the ball nicely into the box for Charlie George Howlett to header it home. Alex Pestana was next to score with an assist from Charlie George Howlett. Howlett then got his 2nd and soon after a hat trick thanks to a great run down the wing by Keelan Cronin and his perfect cross to his team mate.
Aidan Wickens took the first corner of the 2nd half and Mahmoud Hassan was able to use some deft footwork in the box and scored. This was closely followed by Alex Pestana and Aiden Sallis pairing up and a confident goal from Sallis. Aidan Wickens then got onto the score sheet in the 41st minute and then Aiden Sallis showed us his trade mark pace with the ball and made an impressive run culminating with a confident 2nd goal. Xavier Carroll had now been moved from his customary centre back position and he took full advantage in the 59th minute with a well placed goal. Not content with that he then showed great tenacity to beat 2 Summertown players , look up and make a superb pass to Keelan Cronin up front and ready. The ball landed nicely in front of Cronin and he didn't waste any time in seeing it safely into the back of the net. Xavier Carroll then scored his second with an assist from Charlie George Howlett. Keelan Cronin, who was never far from the action today, then made another assist, this time for Kyle Uren-Palmer to slot one home. The last corner of the match was taken by Keelan Cronin and Charlie George Howlett finished the match as he had started it with another fine header.
Player of the Match today was awarded to Keelan Cronin. With 5 assists and 1 goal he is definitely a player to keep an eye on!
Well done team, Semi Finals here we come.
